From a collection of everyday footage recorded in the past, the artist gathered various fragments, including interiors, urban structures, and the movements of people. By inverting the tonal values of these videos and slowing down their playback speed, the artist noticed that a sense of familiarity with the subjects suddenly disappeared, giving rise to a feeling of estrangement toward the notion of the “everyday.”

Furthermore, these images are arranged automatically using editing software, and are structured through processes beyond the artist’s direct intention.

The work questions the artist’s own understanding of the “everyday,” while also attempting to generate new meanings through montage.

私は過去に記録された日常的な映像の集合から、室内や都市の構造物、人々の動きといった複数の断片を収集した。これらの映像の階調を反転させ、再生速度を遅くすると、対象に対する親しみが突然失われ、「日常」という概念に対する異化の感覚が生じることに気がついた。

さらに、これらの映像は編集ソフトによって自動的に配置されており、作者の直接的な意図を超えたプロセスによって構成されている。

本作は、作者自身にとっての「日常」という概念に問いを投げかけるとともに、モンタージュを通して新たな意味の生成を試みている。
