This work is a research project on the “things” that constitute the city.

Through fieldwork conducted in multiple urban areas, the artist recorded subjects that drew her interest. Upon reviewing the footage, recurring motifs emerged, including obscured windows, the backs of passersby, and blank signboards.

These locations and objects, which cannot be directly accessed or fully seen, gradually became central to the artist’s attention.

The work suggests that such motifs may function as surfaces onto which the self is unconsciously projected, and reflects on the relationship between urban observation and self-perception.

この作品は、都市を構成している「もの」についてのリサーチである。

私は複数の都市でのフィールドワークをおこない、自身が興味を持った対象を撮影したが、その記録を見返す中で、「内部を見ることのできない窓」「人々の後ろ姿」「空白の看板」といった反復するモチーフが現れた。

本作は、これらの、直接アクセスすることができない場所や不可視の対象が、無意識のうちに自己を投影する対象として機能している可能性を示し、都市の観察と自己認識との関係について考察している。
