This work explores the relationship between seeing and being seen.

While observing the windows of other people's homes from outside during fieldwork, the artist realized that this act turns the window into a “target.” At the same time, if one is looked at from inside the window, the artist herself may also become a target of another’s gaze.

Within this reciprocal relationship, the work examines how the act of looking simultaneously positions oneself as a being that is also seen.

The work also reflects on the ethical implications of filming, particularly through moments in which unintended subjects appear within the frame.

この作品は、「見ること」と「見られること」の関係を扱っている。

過去におこなったフィールドワークの中で、屋外から他人の住居の窓を観察するとき、その行為は窓を「的」に変えることに気がついた。同時に、その窓の内側から見つめられれば、外にいる自分自身もまた他者の視線の「的」となり得る。

このような相互的な関係の中で、本作は、見る行為が同時に自分自身を「見られる存在」として位置づけてしまう構造を検証している。

また、意図せず他者がフレームに映り込む出来事を通して、撮影という行為が持つ倫理的な側面についても考察している。
